Shadowmite,
Looks like you and I are in the same boat. The last notes in my account after talking to the CS was "Customer may cancel"
Have you tried to place the order today? I talk to a very nice CS lady about all the problems I was having ordering the 6700 and she did a replacement order for my treo 650 and shipping me a 6700. We'll see if that happens. If it does I'll be very happy.

You won't happen to have a treo laying around to compare too?

So Shadowmite, it's just a matter of you needing to wait until they offer it to non-business accounts then, as opposed to you not getting one ever. Right?
For the guy/girl with the PPC-6700, can you take some photos with the PPC-6700's camera? And if you own a Treo 650, photos taken with both devices' cameras for comparison purposes would be wonderful. Thanks!

That silver plastic definitely looks cheap. I'm sick of these silver plastic phones/PDAs. Just give me a flat gray/black phone where the color is mixed in the plastic and I don't need to worry about it rubbing off after heavy use.

I'm a guy...
And yes, it's one of 3 pre-production versions of the phone I have had.
Yes, I also have a Treo 650. I can take comparison pictures this evening. I gave that POS (sorry to any 650 lovers) to my GF when I got the 6700 2 months ago. So I have to wait until she gets home from work.
Internal camera pictures. What resolution do you want? equal?
The Camera (CCD) on the PPC-6700 is still a bit noisey, however it does have a slider for macro mode focusing.
Some other cool features of the PPC-6700 Camera (stuff people don't know yet )
There is a "camera" button on the bottm right side of the unit. You press and hold it for 2 seconds and it goes into camera mode.
Then you hold the device sideways (so screen is in 16:9 orientation) and the "camera" button is then on top like a normal camera!
It also has a flash and BRIGHT LED light for camcorder mode.
AND... it has a PANORAMIC MODE! yes! it will real-time stitch pictures together! User can define left to right, right to left. And how many pictures to use. It puts up a partial "ghost" image so you can align the pictures correctly.
Sport mode for fast pictures, along with bust frames.
it will record video/audio with following specs.
Video capture mods e:320x200 or 160x100
codecs: MPEG-4, motion j-peg, 3gpp2
Still camera modes:
160x120, 320x240,640,x480, 1280x1024, scaled 1600x1280
Encoding: jpg, BMP
I can take some sample images to compare when the GF gets home. I can tell you it is a major improvement.
Oh, and the unit has TRUE, *TRUE* stereo output. Even comes with stereo headphones. Unlike the treo650 which with an adapter outputs the RIGHT channel to both ears, and is NOT (i repeat) NOT stereo.

In regards to the units looks. At 1st I agree it looks cheap/cheezy but after 2 months of use. I hold it up to the treo650 and the 650 looks old and outdated.
It's actually a NICE finish on the silver, can't be seen in the photos. I'll take side by sides around 8-9pm ish (CST) tonight.

Thank you guest!!!! How does the 6700 feel carrying around compared to the treo for day to day use?

(sorry those other posts as "guest" are me) Maybe I should signup? LOL, I have been on this site for a long time... haha
It's really not much different, the unit is slightly thicker. And the 6700 feels slightly heavier than the 650. The TREO-650 does have a noticably better battery life. But really it doesn't matter much as the 6700 will last the day with heavy use. (2-3 hours talking).
Things that are not mentioned, the unit charges by the mini USB cable when plugged in (that rocks!). It has DUN support included with it. I have not tested it via bluetooth however I have tested it via USB. Only thing to note is it reboots the phone after your done with DUN (on my last firmware flash anyway, I haven't tested on the latest) So don't quote me on that.

Actually, I *did* notice that and I agree that it's great. The other aspects of the camera you described I did not know, of course. Thanks much!
Based on samples I've seen, I still don't have high expectations for the camera, which is too bad because I'd really like to have a device like this with camera optics good enough to truly replace my standalone camera. I don't need optical zoom or high megapixels as I'd just use it for web purposes, but I'd like a decent lens and low-light capabilities. One day it'll happen. For now I'll just have to continue to be a bit disappointed.

A better question for ya is:
When the keyboard is out and the screen in landscape mode, does the 5-way remap? Or is toward the antenna still up?
