Bobofdoom helped to fork the 650 linux kernel in the svn tree and we now are ready to make a kernel for the 700wx specifically. Once that's done, a few lcd tweaks are done, and the kernel matches the machine ID I hope to see a linux kernel booting on the 700wx.

I managed to get Haret to load the kernel and jump to it! Nothing further happens, but this is a start!

After some work I now have haret working on the 700wx and have dumped the MMU mappings and GPIO's, they can be found here:

It appears some renewed interest is starting up in this project, several key people to it's success have recently come back to it and a few new developments have occured. First off, bobofdoom joins the treo users at http://www.hackndev.com and with him comes the driving force behind the treo linux project and the lifedrive linux project. He has made some progress in talking to the cellular radio from inside the kernel which is great news! Furthermore, since all treos (save for the 750) share the same hardware designs, most kernel code will be the same and all devices will benefit from each others updates. I will be working with the 700wx side, while a few others will work on the 700p side. Furthermore another developer has made some progress on the 680. Stay tuned!
